by Allison HepworthWe're big fans of canned sustainable seafood. It's portable, versatile, and it's got a really long shelf life! If you've never had Skipper Otto canned salmon or tuna, it's time to dive in --they're nothing like the canned fish you're used to. Most canned salmon you buy has had the oil pressed out of it (and sold off) and is then canned in cheaper oil or water. As you can imagine, this has major impacts for the flavour, texture, and nutritional value! Our canned smoked salmon is the same premium A-grade salmon that we sell as fillets - cut, smoked, and canned with all the nutritional value intact.
The delicious flavour and flakey texture of that salmon is on full display in this smoked salmon dip recipe. While it's not much more work than whipping up a typical batch of salmon salad, the result is creamy, delicious spread or dip you won't be able to get enough of!
We like this served with crackers and cut veggies as a hearty snack, but it's also a fantastic sandwich filling, or delicious just on it's own.
