Kelp

Our wild kelp is hand-harvested from the pristine waters around Haida Gwaii, BC between the months of February and November. Depending on the species, our kelp is harvested by combing the intertidal zone, or snorkeling and freediving. We offer Giant Kelp, Kombu, Wakame, and Dulce varietals.

pricing

We buy directly from our fishers, which allows us to offer our members competitive prices while paying our fishers fair wages. The current prices for 2025 are shown here, and can fluctuate throughout the year. The lower prices are the Metro Vancouver prices, with other provinces being marginally higher. The higher prices are for home delivery throughout Ontario.

product price
Dulse, Kombu and Giant Kelp mini flakes $10-$11 per 40g tin
Kombu and Wakame flakes $9-$12 per 35g bag

Our Fishermen

  • Romero

Romero’s approach to kelp harvesting is well-researched and thoughtful. They harvests their product by hand and chooses to collect less than 10% of kelp beds in order to leave a healthy and sustainable marine canopy. After harvest, the product is gently dried to maintain the most nutrients.
