White fish

Specific offerings can vary but our mainstay products are flash-frozen, boneless, skin-on fillets and portions, all in sizes that are usually around 1 lb each.

Lingcod is a mainstay product and is available in both 1 lb and ½ lb portion sizes. At times we will also have lingcod cheeks, which are available in roughly 1 lb portion sizes. Halibut and sablefish are available in various portion sizes, and seasonally available collars are low-cost options for stews and soups. We also source small amounts of various rockfish species, available as fillets. Northern pike and walleye are two freshwater species available in skinless portions. Hake was not available in 2024.

Halibut and sablefish (also known as black cod) are caught between March and November, lingcod in May, and rockfish in late spring and summer. We aim to keep halibut, lingcod and sablefish in stock year-round, while rockfish can be available mostly in the late summer and fall. The gear methods used by our fishers are bottom longline and troll for halibut, troll for lingcod, bottom longline for sablefish, bottom longline, troll and midwater trawl for rockfish, and midwater trawling for hake. Northern pike and walleye are freshwater species caught between December to March using an auger and gillnet.

We buy directly from our fishers, which allows us to offer our members competitive prices while paying our fishers fair wages. The current prices for 2025 are shown here, and can fluctuate throughout the year. The lower prices are the Metro Vancouver prices, with other provinces being marginally higher. The higher prices are for home delivery throughout Ontario.
