This delicious appetizer begins with a combination of cream cheese, sour cream and mayonnaise, and is brought to life with a generous helping of Dungeness crab meat, chopped artichoke hearts, smoked Gouda, cheddar and spices. Baked in the oven until molten and golden, the crab dip is topped with fresh chives and scallions and served hot alongside fresh bread, crackers or cut vegetables.

Ingredients
- 1 cooked Dungeness crab (2 clusters), thawed and meat removed.
- 1 14-oz can artichoke hearts, drained and roughly chopped
- 1 250g package of cream cheese, softened
- ⅓ cup sour cream
- ⅓ cup mayonnaise
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- Generous crack of salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 lemon, zest and juice
- 2 teaspoons hot sauce (or to taste)
- 1 cup smoked Gouda, grated
- ½ cup cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 scallions, finely sliced (plus extra for garnish)
- 2 tablespoons chopped chives (plus extra for garnish)
- Fresh baguette, crackers, or cut vegetables for dipping
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 365°F.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, garlic, spices, lemon zest and juice, and hot sauce. Blend until smooth.
- Carefully fold in the artichokes, crab meat, most of the cheese, and scallions. You want to reserve a little bit of cheese for the top.
- Taste the mixture and adjust seasonings as needed.
- Transfer to a medium oven-proof baking dish or skillet and sprinkle with the leftover cheese.
- Bake uncovered in the oven for around 25-30 minutes or until golden and bubbling.
- Allow to cool for around 5 minutes before garnishing with extra chopped chives and scallions. Serve alongside your favourite crackers, bread or vegetables, and enjoy!
Notes
- This recipe can be made with cooked fresh live Dungeness crab or a package of our flash-frozen Dungeness crab clusters.
