Garlic & White Wine Spot Prawns

Trust us when we say you need to try these garlic and white wine spot prawns this season!

We are always thrilled to share recipes from our Community Partners, and this one is a tried and true recipe from our friends on Vancouver Island at Country Grocer. It's also a perfect way to incorporate our flash-frozen spot prawns into a simple, delicious and warming meal. Just remember, spot prawns cook quickly, so keep a close eye on them!

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 12 local spot prawns
  • 2 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons parsley (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 cup of white wine (sweet / un-oaked)

Directions

  1. Peel prawns.
  2. Season the prawns with salt and red pepper flakes (to taste).
  3. Preheat a large frying pan on medium-high heat. Once the pan is hot, add the olive oil, wait 5 seconds and then add the prawns. Spot prawns only take about 15-20 seconds per side.
  4. Just before the prawns finish cooking, add the garlic and parsley and toss for about 10 seconds.
  5. Then add the wine and remove from the pan immediately and serve.
