We are always thrilled to share recipes from our Community Partners, and this one is a tried and true recipe from our friends on Vancouver Island at Country Grocer. It's also a perfect way to incorporate our flash-frozen spot prawns into a simple and delicious meal to warm you up this winter. Just remember spot prawns cook quickly, so keep a close eye on them!
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 12 local spot prawns
- 2 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons parsley (finely chopped)
- 1/4 cup of white wine (sweet / un-oaked)
Directions
- Peel prawns.
- Season the prawns with salt and red pepper flakes (to taste).
- Preheat a large frying pan on medium-high heat. Once the pan is hot, add the olive oil, wait 5 seconds and then add the prawns. Spot prawns only take about 15-20 seconds per side.
- Just before the prawns finish cooking, add the garlic and parsley and toss for about 10 seconds.
- Then add the wine and remove from the pan immediately and serve.
