Bang Bang Rockfish Pasta

Loaded with flavour, it's the sauce that puts the “bang” in this Bang Bang recipe. Instead of using the traditional deep-fried shrimp, this recipe incorporates our Yellowtail Rockfish cooked in a skillet.

Whether you cook it on the stovetop or on the grill, why not try this delicious, simple (and slightly healthier) version of this dish tonight!

Ingredients

Fish:

  • 10 oz Yellowtail Rockfish - skin removed and cut into 2 cm cubes
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp coarse ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 7 oz/ 200 grams of dried spaghetti

Bang Bang Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt, fat free
  • 1/4 cup Sweet Thai Chili Sauce
  • 2 tsp Sriracha sauce (makes mildly hot)
  • 1/2 lime - squeezed

Garnish:

  • Sliced green onions
  • Sesame Seeds

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients together for the Bang Bang sauce, and store in the fridge until needed. This can be made up to a day ahead.
  2. Heat skillet, on stovetop or grill, on medium high heat.
  3. Heat pot of water to boiling point, and cook pasta per package directions
  4. Coat the cubed fish with olive oil and the seasoning listed, and mix well.
  5. Melt butter in the skillet and add the fish. Cook until cooked through (about 10 minutes), then reduce heat to low.
  6. Add the Bang Bang sauce to the skillet, then add the cooked and drained pasta.

To serve:

  1. Plate the cooked fish and pasta, (try twirling the pasta onto the plate for a fun and restaurant worthy presentation!)
  2. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds

Servings: 2 people
