Skipper Otto’s seafood heads to the Prairies!

Sonia - September 29, 2014

As you can probably imagine, it takes quite a bit of work to bring 10,000 pounds of BC wild seafood from the coast to the prairies. For the past week, the entire Skipper Otto team has been working hard to prepare for our deliveries to Calgary, Regina, Saskatoon, Edmonton and Jasper.

Shaun, Ariel and Krysta are driving a 5 tonne truck more than 3,600 km over the course of 10 days, delivering to nearly 500 members of Skipper Otto’s Community Supported Fishery.  In between organizing inventory and making sure orders were successfully placed, we’ve also been planning snacks, scenic destinations to stop at, and road trip playlists to keep morale high.

The team left from Vancouver on Friday early morning, and you can follow along with the journey via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. If you’re one of the prairie members expecting a delivery soon, we can’t wait to see you! We may be slightly exhausted and road weary, but we are also so excited to bring you sustainable, wild BC seafood from small-scale and independent fishermen.
