Our North Vancouver Partner: Cook Culture

Sonia - January 22, 2016

We’re delighted to introduce you to our brand new Community Partner in North Vancouver . . .

Cook Culture has been helping people get the right stuff for their kitchens for over 25 years. Their enthusiasm for health, well-being, and community coupled with their incredible customer service and amazing cooking classes make them an ideal Community Partner for Skipper Otto’s. We’re honoured that Cook Culture will begin to distribute CSF member shares at their North Vancouver location starting in February 2016!

I first met Cook Culture founder and CEO, Jed Grieve, through our friend and partner Chef Ned Bell. Jed and Ned are best friends who grew up together and who even look and sound alike! They share the same passion for healthy, local, sustainable food and Jed was eager to find ways to work with Skipper Otto’s to advance our mission of connecting local fishermen to conscientious consumers while protecting marine ecosystems. When Jed announced they were opening a Cook Culture location in North Vancouver, I had the idea that perhaps our members could pick up their CSF shares at the new store. Jed enthusiastically jumped on the idea!

In January, 2016, we had a tour of the beautiful North Vancouver store and demo kitchen. We met with Kathy Taylor, store manager and Mitsuko Osugi, Project Development Manager. Everyone was incredibly, friendly, professional, and enthusiastic about our CSF and eager to work with us toward our shared vision of a more just food system!

The Community Partnership model is working beautifully for pick-up in locations across western Canada and we’re excited to have Cook Culture come on board as a new partner this year! In addition to offering a super-convenient pick-up location, Cook Culture offers all kinds of sustainable seafood prep classes that I know our members will love!

If you are in North Vancouver, drop by and say hello to our friends at Cook Culture!
